The yellow tube slide(The Banana something) jerked me up onto the side walls where there was no water and my back got burned from the friction.upon reaching the bottom there was too much water built up and I was completely submerged, causing water to rush up my nose and fill my sinuses with chlorine water. Unfortunately, in the few hours I was here a couple things happened that make Safari Joe's a place to avoid. I wanted to be able to give this place a glowing review, because it's obvious the new owners are trying to make this place better than Big Splash was. The slides didn't work, the whole place was like a dump and we could have had a better time with a water hose and a garden sprinkler in our own backyard.believe me.if you go to this place after reading this.you get what you deserve.you've been warned! They were also out of lockers and one of the managers told us we could keep our valuables in an unsecured "basket" that she assured us would be safe.and we would get our 5 dollars back when we were ready to leave.but the punk smart mouthed kid who was in charge when we were ready to leave wouldn't give it to us.and was very rude. Our daughter and grandkids have been looking forward to coming down to Tulsa from out-of-state and going to this place for a couple of months now.what an enormous let down.poor kids.īesides being grossly overpriced and having just a genuine nasty, unkempt dirty appearance.they didn't have any tubes for rent.(most waterparks just give them to you too by the way).and don't charge 75 percent of the admission charge you just paid thirty seconds ago. I am a PAYING customer! Yet, the lifeguard was COMPLETLEY RUDE AND DISRESPECTFULL! Management didn't seem to care, hence my poor rating. No doubt it's annoying, but BE NICE!! It really got me when I asked about the waves (after we waited for over 30 minutes for the waves). Management was excusing the lifeguards behavior!! I don't care if kids ask a million times, you be polite a million times. "They get asked all day by kids when the waves will start." I know how tough that business is! But that does not excuse the way the lifeguards talked to people! When I approached management about this, I was told, What I can't overlook is how rude many of the lifeguards are to me and to children! I worked in customer service.

Indeed, I would not have taken time to write a review about that. The kids are trained to hit the wave pool first because they know it won't be operating later. Perhaps it is and perhaps it is a coincides that the maintenance happens to be every time we go and hour or so before closing. When asked management claims it is under maintenance. The mangers have told us that the wave pool runs every 15 minutes, yet it consistently stops an hour or so prior to closing. I have two issues, the wave pool and the lifeguards. So, for me the park is nice for the price. I buy them early and get a good deal on the purchase. My family of 8 has purchased season passes for the last couple of years. I'm from Owasso and I'd never bring someone from out of town to Big Splash, I would be ashamed they spend the $$ to get in for a day and it totally NOT be worth it.

C'mon BIG SPLASH.if you all keep going downhill like you have been, you'll be closed in no time. They are too busy talking, trying to fix their hair or running to the back to acknowledge that there are 20 people standing in line. Some of the girls in the concession stand are the most unprofessional I've seen in awhile. Then the next week we got all lemon and no sugar/water, so tart you couldn't drink it. Once I got no lemon and all sugar water, and I got it on my way out of the park to drink on my way home.what a disappointment. At the first of the season the lemonade was awesome.the last 2 weeks, not so much, I should have demanded my dollar back. I don't drink pop so I was glad to see that they offered unsweet tea and this year they have lemonade. That's IF you can get waited on at the concession stand. We always buy the season cup that they have and then refills are cheaper and you can bring it back each time you come. The concessions stands are high, but it's to be expected. With all the lifeguards they have walking around there and people on the golf cart buzzing by you would think that a couple of them could use the skimmer nets before opening and get some of that out. We pretty much stay in the wave pool and the past couple of weekends we've went there have been bugs floating everywhere, some trash also. They've needed new chairs for the past few years, and this year they've added a few, (very few),the chairs are broken, sagging, and stained. We've gotten Season Passes for the past 4 or 5 years now and each year the park gets worse.
